Canadian indie super-group Broken Social Scene is performing a free show in Wrigleyville tonight, according to the groups Twitter feed. The band is known for indie hits (ha!) such as ‘Anthem for a Seventeen Year Old Girl’ and the blowjob/love song ’Lover’s Spit.’ They’ll be performing at 8 p.m. tonight at 1015 W. Addison St.
Probably most amusing is, judging from Twitter, the group put this show together over a couple days. They tweeted that they were coming to Chicago “for a beer” two days ago, and eventually got to declaring the show one hour ago. We know, you have tons of reading to do, plus that problem set due next Wednesday, not to mention you’re still in the midst of updating your résumé for the upcoming internship season. BUT, consider this: Why the hell did you come to a school one hour (by train) outside of the third largest city in the U.S. if not to go to free shows downtown?
