After a month out of the spotlight, our favorite campus celeb, Chet Haze, returned to center stage with the release of a snazzy music video for his song “Hollywood.” Finally, all is right in the world. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. In the video Chet plays a photographer shooting his love interest, a model/actress. The premise isn’t exactly original, but we can’t help but like this softer side of Chet we’re seeing. Are those baby blues looking at us? Wait, did we actually admit that out loud? Of course, we’re using the term “softer” loosely, because, well, Chet and his girl end up in bed, not fully clothed at the end of the video. How provocative! Maybe we’re actually into this whole pop rap thing he won’t stop talking about on Twitter. But what’s always captivated us about Chet is his way with words. And “Hollywood” is filled with gems: “Girl you be my calendar, let’s go on a date,” and “Your attitude flirtatious, flyer than a spaceship.” Heart flutter. Now we just want to hear Howard Stern’s analysis.
