If you’re a student old enough to reap the benefits of nightlife apart from frat hopping, TKOE and the Mark II Lounge, then take a look at Chicago’s second annual Beer Hoptacular, on Saturday. For one day only, Northwestern’s 21+ beer connoisseurs can break away from the usual Busch and Natty Light and taste over a hundred, much classier beers from 35 breweries. Yes, we realize the $40 cover fee seems steep on a college budget. But imagine the fun you’ll have picking up guys among the pool of 4,000 beer lovers, or the money you’re essentially saving by not buying drinks for freshmen girls at the Keg against your will. Did someone say ‘FREE refills’? Beer Hoptacular features unlimited amounts of beer from across the country for ticket holders during two separate sessions. Both tasting sessions leave time for you to take advantage of the nightlife in the city, or if you’re lame, get back to campus and find a stool at Nevin’s. Not to mention, you get to keep your sampling glass, which beats a BK Lounge paper cup any day. Find the full deets after the jump.
