Dance Marathon’s 5th annual Top Chef event brought out a hungry crowd on Saturday to watch teams compete in 30-minute cooking challenges. Teams enjoyed autonomy in creating their own cuisine, so long as it included this year’s special ingredient, lemon. Between challenges the audience participated in Quickfire challenges, visited tables to try to “Guess the kitchen utensil” or “Guess the spice,” and munched on snacks donated by Whole Foods. Celebrity judges like ASG President Austin Young and Dean of Students Burgie Howard awarded juniors Colton and Hunter Gits and sophomore Amanda Gajdosik first place for the trios fish taco dish. Besides the obvious glory of being named best chefs on campus, 60 percent of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the dancer team of their choice.
