Treat yourself to a soothing Egg Chair

It's cozy, bizarre, and, best of all, free.

Midterms are rough, we know. Luckily, the Stress-Management Resource Center at CAPS can help you out. For the rest of the quarter, the center is playing host to two Stress Reduction Egg Chairs, these oddly futuristic looking seats that almost surround you. Check out the full experience, after the jump.

CAPS offers an iPod preloaded with soothing music, relaxation podcasts and meditation techniques that can be played through the in-chair speakers. Or, for those of you that find some good old Adele more relaxing than a strange man telling you how to breathe, you can even hook up your own iPod. However, we really recommend going with what CAPS has to offer, especially the meditation exercises.

Sure, this all sounds a little fruity. And, truth be told, it is. But trust us on this one: There is no better way to clear your head and de-stress than to take 20 minutes out of your jam-packed day and lounge around in a weird-looking chair. If nothing else, it sure makes a great place that isn’t Periodicals to catch a quick snooze on campus.

The chair is available for drop-in on Mondays from 12-3:30 p.m. and on Tuesdays from 2-4:30 p.m. in Searle 3-234. Don’t forget to bring your WildCard.
