We can’t say we’re into competitive eating, but we do like a good challenge. And what better way to kick our Sunday morning hangovers than to binge on carbohydrates? Admittedly this wasn’t our smartest decision because it turns out some establishments (we’re looking at you Coffee Lab and I Dream of Sweets) aren’t opened on Sunday, so they’re regrettably left out of our oh-so scientific ratings. And while eating a dozen cupcakes from local Evanston bakeries and cafes is no Coney Island hot dog eating contest, the inevitable post-consumption sugar high made us more nauseous than anticipated.
