Midterms still got you down? Well, this weekend you can crank BritBrit’s newest video/work of art “Criminal” and live vicariously through the Party Report, imagining you’re taking shots with the best of them. Ah, if only you could put down those books to go out this weekend. But don’t study too hard. With Homecoming this weekend, you won’t want to miss all those awkward tailgates where undergrads mingle with alumni trying to relive their glory days. And in case you somehow missed the annoying Facebook events and listserv blasts, the new Homecoming Court will also be crowned this weekend. Hopefully neither of the winners used too much sabotage to win.
NU’s Twitter accounts were in top form this week, with Chet Haze philosophizing about destiny and TKOE teaching us how to have a good Monday night — as if we didn’t already know. But neither of these can top fratstar turned rapper Booshua’s antics, tweeting campus publications about his not-so-new and oh-so-cleverly (or maybe just offensively) titled remix, “Allah Delights.” If you’re looking for something a bit more serious, check out our story on Twain Trip, a cross country journey where three Northwestern journalists are following the famous writer’s foot steps. Or check out our latest installment of our serialized fiction story, “The Residents.” This week, our fave CA finds himself stuck in a wasteland of Friday night parties as he tries to find his friend.
Best of Buzz: This week we’ve been pretty jealous of Georgetown, where students can now take a class on Jay-Z, but fear not, NU has some good things going on too. Trojan condoms released their annual sexual health ratings on campuses, and Northwestern jumped to 28th place after finishing 63rd last year. Somehow, we still don’t think that will satisfy all of our over-achievers.
