By now, Halloween weekend is in full swing. When you’re pregaming tonight wearing your sexiest pair of cat ears (or maybe our Morty mask?), be sure to listen to our latest playlist, which we can assure you is way cooler than that “Monster Mash” they played at your middle school Halloween dance. Or if you’re already over this whole Halloween thing, the Biebs has already released some Christmas music, which is sure to put you in the spirit — or at least help you realize just how creepy he is. And if you’re looking for some party ideas, look no further than last week’s Party Report. But don’t party too hard, or you might end up like one sophomore who lost his friend on the way home from a concert. Oops.
But of course, we do go to class here, too. If you’re wasting away thinking about just how awful your chem prof is and how much you hate problem sets, just remember, you could have signed up for “Philosophy of Cyberspace” where the students play Second Life for homework and the professor is an Internet star. Looking good in class has never been so easy with our new feature, “Get This Betch’s Look.” This week, copy a Weinberg sophomore’s preppy boho vibe. If you missed College Dems’ sponsored debate between Mike Murphy and David Axelrod this week, we got it all covered for you. The political opponents joked around, made pop culture references and, of course, campaigned for their party.
And don’t forget to check out the latest installment in Intel’s serial fiction “The Residents” complete with purple weed, teen superstars, and (of course) frat parties.
Best of Buzz: This week we learned that Coach Fitz and Athletic Director Phillips want NU to build a new athletic facility in the heart of campus. Not having to trek all the way to Central Street on Saturdays for a football game sounds pretty good to us. But at least our problems are minor compared to those of an Arizona prof who has been banned from eight different McDonald’s restaurants for announcing to diners that she found MRSA in the children’s play area.
