Courage or Idiocy?
We would be shortchanging our readers if we didn’t take another look at Jill Mahen’s Monday column: Crazy Boys: Interpreting Verbal Vomit. The column elicited 15 comments on the Daily’s website over the course of the week, and a spot in our Buzz List. They range from lauding Mahen for her guts and courage to call all men douche bags to condemning her for her poor writing skills and “perpetuating gender stereotypes in an inaccurate manner.”
Our fave: “Jill Mahen’s column should be renamed the ‘Insta-rager’ because the only ‘verbal vomit’ I see appears to come out of her,” from “Student.” Kudos to “Student” for criticizing the controversial columnist and coining a term. What will the “‘Insta-rager” bring next?

Greek Fury
We really should have expected that a story revealing the struggles of the Purple Book and its editors would spark a fraternity feud. Though this article only got three comments, the first two were two of the harshest posted on NU Intel this week.
Our fave: “its cute that tri-delt and lodge feel the need to gang up on sigep. what a classy, dignified publication” from “truthful.” Yeah, because here at NU Intel, we try to write everything with the Greeks and how they’ll respond in mind. C’mon Greeks. Get over yourselves.

IM Passions
And the winner for most comments for the week on NU Intel: this week’s IM football roundup. We knew IM football was divisive, we just didn’t know it was this divisive.
Our Fave: The story elicited five comments, but our two favorite included a mini-dispute between the supporters of the Fighting Quakers and team Slivka. The latter group called out the Quaker fans for being “douche bags” and “jackasses.” Petty name calling? Nothing like IM to teach you good sportsmanship.
