Think you had it rough applying to college? Try being a student in India. The New York Times reports that many Indian students are turning to colleges in America, simply because the acceptance rates are so low in their home country. Delhi University requires a near-impossible score of 100 percent on entrance exams and the Indian Institutes of Technology have an acceptance rate near 2 percent. With stats like that working against them, it’s no wonder these students would rather apply to American schools. Being halfway across the world from their parents probably isn’t too bad either.
