Apple announced Thursday that the company plans to “reinvent the textbook” by releasing software to make e-books available on the iPad, causing professors across the country to jump onto their (nonexistent) blogs and Twitters to state their opinions on the matter. Some expressed excitement for the chance to design custom texts for their classes and use the newest revolutionary technology, while others realize that making cash-strapped students pay for an iPad on top of the lengthy list of required purchases for college may only benefit Apple and the book publishers. Of course we can expect professors that can’t figure out Blackboard to easily navigate an iPad, right?
