In today’s issue, The Daily salutes former ASG president Mike McGee with a feel-good profile describing his time as a “dedicated leader” and a term that was “marked by collaboration with new University President Morton O. Schapiro and the achievement of many of his platform’s goals.” Reminiscing about his past term in the piece, McGee is optimistic, giving himself an “A-” in his work on a new Norris.

As for the problems surrounding ASG, McGee said there are always things “he could have done better.” The main caveat of ASG is, of course, that everyone associated with the student government is still a student. “When you’re in it, you’re like, ‘I’ve got class, I’ve got to eat, I have to sleep at some point. Oh, I have these meetings. Okay, what do I choose?” McGee told The Daily.

While tomorrow will be McGee’s last Dillo Day, you’ll still be able to spot his notorious purple apparel on campus next year, when he’ll be working on an entrepreneurial venture with another former ASG prez, Neal Sales-Griffin. For all the criticism ASG gets, we have to agree with the Daily—McGee deserves some credit for his “crazy dedication.”
