Research suggests that going to the Keg on Mondays might help you more in life than pulling an all-nighter for that Micro midterm. Well, kind of. According a study done at the University of Notre Dame, college seniors who decided to be “pro-social” in 1994 exhibited more “generativity, personal growth, and integrity” than those whose goals were more business-and career-related. As for the definition of “pro-social”—we’ll leave that up to you to decide. [Chronicle of Higher Education]

Morty Schapiro—the president, the economist, the… sports fanatic? Turns out Schapiro can banter with the best about the Outback Bowl, Superbowl, and Purdue game, though he still admits that he’s “just a dorky academic.” While reading the interview may give a glimpse of our purple-painted president, it’s really all summed up in his touchdown dance. As college students, we know that Wikipedia really does contain all knowledge that is true. Students at Canada’s McGill University have decided to show their love for the non-profit by starting a “Students Supporting Wikipedia” club last month. The group seeks to support Wikipedia by fundraising and contributing information to the user-written encyclopedia. One idea is to set up donation boxes around campus with signs reading, “If you used Wikipedia today, put in a quarter.” If McGill’s anything like Northwestern, those boxes should start overflowing right about midterm season.
