Northwestern not expensive enough to be considered super expensive

How many times have you been told that Northwestern’s tuition is one of the highest in the country? Many. But is it really? The Huffington Post recently profiled the top ten most expensive colleges in the United States. Shockingly, Northwestern is noticeably absent. Columbia University, which tops the list with tuition around $45,000 dollars, is a far cry from Northwestern’s $41,500 per year. Well that’s a reason to celebrate, right? Here’s one more reason to splurge on that new scarf you’ve been wanting: President Obama issued an ultimatum to colleges, forcing them to keep their tuitions low. The president wants to retract federal aid from colleges that don’t lower their tuition and “provide good value.” We’ve been told Northwestern provides a valuable education, but we aren’t going to lie, the tuition could still use some work.
