On Sunday morning, the Tribune ran a piece about an NUPD officer filing a racial discrimination claim against the University. Sound familiar? That’s because we broke the same story nearly two and a half weeks ago. And while we’re flattered, the best part is realizing that NU spokesman Alan Cubbage uses the same stock responses for everyone. [Chicago Tribune]
Congratulations, Class of 2013: You’re better than the rest of us. According to statistics released Friday, this year’s freshmen are more diverse and higher achieving than their sophomore counterparts, with black enrollment at its highest in 10 years and average SAT scores rising by 10 points. What’s more, 90 percent of this year’s students are in the top 10 percent of their class, a 5 percent increase from last year. [The Daily]
