Just in time for Dillo Day, NU students are making one more last ditch effort to improve town/gown relations before Saturday’s pandemonium. The efforts are in the form of Sweet Perk, an iPhone and Android app developed by NU students and the local non-profit “Downtown Evanston.” Starting May 26, shoppers can use the app in downtown Evanston to find digital coupons for local businesses. The idea is the product of a five month partnership between a local non-profit management and marketing service and Northwestern business and engineering students. We hope the app gives us some credibility with Evanston residents, or if that fails, we hope it at least gives us some good discounts at Edzo’s.
