A town ordinance in Narragansett, Rhode Island—home to the University of Rhode Island—allows police to post orange stickers on houses they think are too rowdy. Like a Scarlet Letter of partying shame, only with fines, too. And we thought Evanston has crazy ordinances. URI students brought the town to court, calling the act unconstitutional. But an appeals court ruled against the undergrads yesterday, saying the practice wasn’t discriminatory. Well, at least students will know where the parties are.
