Creeping on (and making character judgments about) incoming Northwestern freshmen just got a little harder. This year, for the first time, the Wildcat Welcome Board is acting as the administrator of the official Facebook group for the class of 2015, and has required interested remembers request to join the group before becoming officially admitted. How exclusive! In actuality, the request-to-join barrier may be a mere formality. “We definitely are not screening those who request to join,” says Austin Young, programming director for Wildcat Welcome. “The Wildcat Welcome Board created the official page to help build a sense of community before [the freshman] even arrive.” Cute.
