Conspiracy theorists think Medill is in with Adobe

4/7/127:09 pmBy Emily Rivest 0 Comments

Here at Intel, we love a good conspiracy theory, so when commenters posted their thoughts on our comparison of book prices for each school, we were pretty excited. Apparently, Medill and Adobe are in cahoots. Who knew? Check out the comments after the jump. more

You all must not have enough work this week because you were spending your time creepin’ through our archives and commenting on our dream lineup for Dillo Day 2012, published last spring. A seven-paragraph smoking rights rant ends with messages of love

11/11/113:33 pmBy Sophia Ahn 0 Comments

Who knew that a one-paragraph buzz could provoke a seven-paragraph retaliatory essay, a piece of work that any debate team would be proud to read? In the comment section for the U of Illinois contemplates smoking ban article, reader OK wrote a fiery reply filled with piercing observations about society’s values–do we value clean lungs or clean shoes? However the rant ends on a loving message to fellow Intel readers about embracing who you are and living life to the fullest. Love, don’t hate. See the full comment after the jump.

A classy interchange of ideas in Intel’s comment section

11/4/111:35 pmBy Sophia Ahn 0 Comments

We have to say we were surprised by the enlightening and sophisticated manner of the debate between two readers with differing opinions on Morty’s new strategic plan. Wait, no yelling, no caps, no derogatory comments? While we love you for your foaming-at-the-mouth passion and edginess, we have to admit we could start to like this softer, mature side we’re seeing. We feel like a TA who’s finally got the class to engage in cordial conversation after weeks of just having that batshit crazy guy bring up all of the points he’s been “rumininating on” for the past week. So kudos to you, readers, for staying classy this week. But, we still expect to see you out in all of your sloppy glory this weekend. Deal? See the full comments after the jump. more

Our first Letter to the Editor, sort of

9/23/112:11 pmBy John Irvine 1 Comment

It’s always nice to hear from alumni, especially when they are trying to impart life lessons. We’re listening. As “A Concerned Wildcat” points out, life is too short. Too short for shitty marketing and slightly embarrassing misuses of dawn/don, but hey, sometimes we get caught up. We hope the rest of our readers will forgive our “grievous crimes against the English language” and bear with our usage of the Oxford comma for what we guarantee will be another year ranting, raving, and semi-professional journalism.
