The IM flag football season may be over, but our coverage is far from done. All-Star teams are still to be announced (stay tuned for that next week), and we’re still wrapping our heads around one of the most entertaining seasons of football — and most generous by mother nature — in recent years. With that in mind, we decided not to limit our season awards to the basics. Hence, the comprehensive list you find below, which includes Purple, White and Co-Rec. If you’re a character, or your team caught our eye this season, you’re sure to find your name somewhere. If not, there’s always 2010.

Did we miss any? Wanna argue with any? Leave a comment…

For all the flack we caught for not picking enough upsets, or not giving love to teams with undefeated records ranked outside our top ten (El Cuatro), as we get set for the final weekend of intramural flag football, our predictions don’t look so bad. Below is a comprehensive look at how we got here and what to expect from this weekend.

Oh baby! Playoff time is here in the land of flag football, and other than a handful of unbelievably awful teams that didn’t make the postseason, everyone is excited. If you care even a smidge, you’ve no doubt seen the brackets already. But you may not be familiar with the teams to watch out for, potential major matchups, or overrated squads. That’s what we’re here for at The Post, so feast your eyes on our playoff preview (the names of each bracket region is the top-ranked team in that region and listed below the respective bracket), and get ready to enjoy the best two weeks of the fall season of intramural sports. more

We lamented the loss in East Lansing as the Cats continue to fail at every attempt for an upset victory this season. However, our criticism did not reach the level of one message board poster who clearly hasn’t met Coach Pat Fitzgerald.

It’s the halfway point of the IM flag football season, so we told you which teams surprised and disappointed, where they stood in the new power rankings, how to stay on the refs’ good side, and which players deserved some props. (Would, ‘Hey lady, The Post called me an MVP for flag football’ work at the Keg?)

Every Thursday, Back Talk will take a look at the comments on The Daily, NBN, and NU Intel over the course of the past week.

Courage or Idiocy?
We would be shortchanging our readers if we didn’t take another look at Jill Mahen’s Monday column: Crazy Boys: Interpreting Verbal Vomit. The column elicited 15 comments on the Daily’s website over the course of the week, and a spot in our Buzz List. They range from lauding Mahen for her guts and courage to call all men douche bags to condemning her for her poor writing skills and “perpetuating gender stereotypes in an inaccurate manner.” more
