@nrthwesterngrl gets nostalgic for New York with her bank statement

@NrthwesternGrl has found time in between daily workouts at EAC, volunteering downtown, and sorority executive board duties to put together a weekly column for us. Today she shares a recent bank statement. For more @NrthwesternGrl, follow her here.

Am I the only person who likes to relive my debit purchases online? In the middle of studying for midterms slash slitting my wrists in the library this week, I just needed a break. So naturally, I took the time to look back at my statement from December. But now I’m kind of homesick. Chicago is great and all, but nothing beats an amazing trip to Bergdorf Goodman in New York—or the steal I got on a pair of shoes. If only I actually had some time to wear them. At least Starbucks is the same everywhere. more

A week of good Christian boys and soliciting TAs

Winter Quarter is starting to become one dark, cold reality but judging from this week’s Party Report, you knew just the way to banish those icky feelings (or at least how to get a good alcohol jacket going). Just remember, try not to go too crazy because, chances are, the frat you’re playing pong in is probably under some sort of probation. Don’t be that girl. Or maybe you were much more tame and spent some of your three-day weekend commemorating Martin Luther King, Jr. with a candlelight vigil. more

@nrthwesterngrl’s New Year’s Resolutions

@Nrthwesterngrl has found time in between daily workouts at EAC, volunteering downtown, and sorority executive board duties to put together a weekly column for us. First, she’s sharing her New Year’s resolutions. For more @Nrthwesterngrl, follow her here.

I really think last quarter was my best at Northwestern. I mean, I ran my first 10K and finally pulled off a 4.0. But after volunteering at the homeless center downtown, I started reflecting a lot on, like, my life and who I am as a person. OK so maybe it was only two trips, but I think I kind of realized my place in society and that I truly want to change the world? So I did some intense thinking—maybe while at yoga, don’t judge—and made some New Year’s resolutions. I mean it’s just a quick list I dictated to Siri on my way back from EAC, but I hope you like it! more
