I’m not super attached to it, but I think the reasons behind why they want to close it are unfair. The students need something like that. I work for the city of Evanston, and I think they have some issues with Northwestern relations. They can be pretty unfair. more

Alex Williamson: Completely and totally indifferent. Today was the first time I’ve ever been there, and it was empty. And outside it, it was really loud. I’d hate to live nearby.

I actually haven’t been, but I know a lot of people who think it’s cool and say it looks like Hogwarts, which I can appreciate. I’m sure it’s good for most people.

If you weren’t in college right now, what would you be doing?

Um, I actually almost took a gap year, and I wanted to work somewhere abroad, but [pauses] that didn’t work out, and now I’m here. more

How would you feel if the Great Room got shut down?

I would feel so devastated and sad and heartbroken. I love the Great Room. I can’t even believe it’s university sponsored, it’s so good.

If you weren’t in college right now, what would you be doing?

Trade-drifting. I’d just be a vagabond. A vigilante. more
